Jobs Abroad: Easiest Way to Get Work Without a Degree!

Jobs abroad are possible without a degree. Discover the 8 countries hiring Nigerians in 2026 and avoid scams while applying directly for work visas.

In what can be described as a game-changer for the Nigerian labour market, at least eight top-tier countries have been identified as actively seeking foreign workers based on vocational skills rather than university degrees.

As ageing populations and severe labour shortages hit Europe and Asia, Wakawaka Doctor reports that countries like Germany, Finland, Japan, and Australia have restructured their 2026 migration pathways to favour tradespeople, caregivers, and logistics experts.

Investigations reveal that the demand for jobs abroad is not just for any worker, but for individuals with documented experience in sectors where local populations are shrinking.

Jobs Abroad: Countries Where Skills Beat Degrees

  • Germany: Currently facing one of Europe’s largest labour gaps, Germany is desperately seeking plumbers, electricians, and care assistants.

While a degree isn’t required, a recognised vocational certificate and a willingness to learn the German language are mandatory.

  • Finland: The Nordic nation has flagged massive shortages in hospitality, construction, and cleaning. Like Germany, basic Finnish language skills are now the primary gatekeeper for these roles.
  • Canada: Remains a top destination for Nigerian truck drivers and trade workers.

Under the 2026 Provincial Nominee Programs, a valid commercial license and employer sponsorship often carry more weight than a BSc.

  • Malta: As of March 2026, Malta has introduced a mandatory “Skills Pass” for all foreign workers. Applicants must pass an online integration and English proficiency course, but do not necessarily need a degree for tourism and service roles.
  • Australia & New Zealand: Both nations continue to offer “Green List” and seasonal work pathways for those with high-value technical skills in agriculture and construction.

‘Don’t Pay Any Agent’

In his recent video, Wakawaka Doctor issued a major warning to the Japa community regarding “WhatsApp agents” who claim that a lack of a degree guarantees a visa.

He urged Nigerians to bypass these middlemen and apply directly via official government portals.

“The biggest mistake is believing agents who collect millions of Naira for ‘guaranteed’ jobs,” he warned. “Reputable international employers pay the recruitment fees themselves. If an agent is asking for money up front to secure a job in Poland or Ireland, it is likely a scam.”

The Real Requirements

While a degree may be optional, these countries are not “throwing their borders open” for unskilled labour. To succeed, Nigerian applicants are advised to:

  1. Prioritise Language: Germany and Finland will rarely hire someone who hasn’t attempted to learn the basics of their language.
  2. Build a Global CV: Use digital resources to create a curriculum vitae that meets European or Australian standards.
  3. Be Patient: Real relocation processes take months, not weeks. Any offer promising “instant travel” should be treated with suspicion.

For the Nigerian welder, nurse-assistant, or driver, the message for Jobs abroad in 2026 is clear: Your hands-on skills are now your most valuable passport.
