Africa’s number one migration expert, Wakawaka Doctor, is as shocked as the rest of the world following the devastating demise of Liverpool’s star Diogo Jota and his brother.
Liverpool and Portuguese football have been plunged into mourning following the tragic death of star forward Diogo Jota and his brother André Silva in a devastating car accident in Spain.

The 28-year-old Liverpool striker, who had just celebrated his wedding two weeks earlier, died when their vehicle crashed and caught fire on the A-52 motorway near Zamora in northwestern Spain.
Diogo Jota: Liverpool star’s tragic passing shocks football world
The accident occurred shortly after midnight on Thursday, with emergency services confirming both men were pronounced dead at the scene.
Reports indicate that the Lamborghini Jota was driving veered off the road following a tyre blowout during an overtaking manoeuvre, leading to the fatal crash.
Silva, aged 25 and also a professional footballer playing for Penafiel in Portugal’s second division, was travelling with him at the time.

Jota’s sudden passing has sent shockwaves through the football world. Since joining Liverpool in September 2020 from Wolverhampton Wanderers for £45 million, he made 182 appearances and scored 65 goals, playing a vital role in the club’s recent successes, including the 2024/25 Premier League title.
Internationally, Jota earned 49 caps for Portugal, contributing to two UEFA Nations League victories.
The tragedy is particularly poignant as Jota had recently married his longtime partner, Rute Cardoso, with whom he shared three children. The couple’s joyous wedding in Porto was widely celebrated on social media just weeks ago.
